Create the quality control options

Some intake readings are not numbers. Whether the delivery is accompanied by the grower's paperwork is a yes or no, and the ripeness of a sample is one of the recognized color stages. A quality control option defines a fixed list of answers for readings like these, so the inspector picks from a list instead of typing free text, and the answers stay consistent from one delivery to the next.

Tomato intake needs two options.

To create an option:

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Quality Control Options, and then choose the related link.
  2. On the action bar, select New.
  3. On the General FastTab, enter the Code and Description. If you leave Code blank, it is assigned from the Quality Option Nos. series instead — enter your own code when you want it to describe the list.
  4. On the Lines FastTab, add one line per selectable value and fill in the Description. The lines can only be entered after the code is saved.
  5. Repeat for the second option.

Create the following two options.

YES/NO — Yes/No

SequenceDescription
10Yes
20No

COLOR — Color Stage

SequenceDescription
10Green
20Breakers
30Turning
40Pink
50Light Red
60Red

The Sequence is filled in for you, ten at a time, in the order you add the lines. It controls the order the values are listed to the inspector, so add the color stages in ripeness order as shown above rather than relying on the number itself.

Leave Requires Comment cleared on every line for now. Select it on a line only when you want the inspector to be forced to explain that particular answer.

The answer recorded on a check is the sequence number of the value that was chosen, not its description. Add the values in the order you want them presented, so that the sequence is settled before the option is used on a question.
