Process quality control checks

Quality control checks can be processed in two ways: the Quality Control App, a touch-optimized companion app designed for PC or tablet use, and the Quality Control Check card and list pages in Business Central. Both provide access to the same checks and support the full processing workflow.

Open the Quality Control App

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Quality Control App, and choose the related link. The Quality Control App page opens.

The Checks tab is active by default and lists all open quality control checks assigned to the logged-in user's team. Select the Actions tab to view quality control action items.

To create an ad-hoc check without leaving the app, choose the + button in the header. For more information, see Create ad-hoc checks.

The following fields are displayed for each check:

FieldDescription
No.Specifies the quality control check number.
StatusSpecifies the status of the quality control check.
DocumentSpecifies the document type and document number associated with the check.
Doc. ActionSpecifies the document action that triggered the check.
SourceSpecifies the source type and number — for example, a customer, vendor, or work center.
Source NameSpecifies the name of the source.
Item/LotSpecifies the item number and lot number associated with the check.
Assigned ToSpecifies the user assigned to the check.
TeamSpecifies the quality control team responsible for the check.
Created DateSpecifies the date the check was created, based on the Date Source setting on the Quality Control Setup page. For more information, see Set up quality control.

Use the Teams dropdown to filter the list to one or more specific teams. The options are populated from the teams present in the loaded checks — including an Unassigned option for checks with no team assigned. When no teams are selected, all checks are shown.

Turn on the Show posted toggle to include posted quality control checks in the list. The look-back period is controlled by the QC Data Load Period field on the Quality Control Setup page. For more information, see Set up quality control. When the toggle is on, the following additional fields are displayed:

FieldDescription
Posted DateSpecifies the date the quality control check was posted.
ScoreSpecifies the quality control check score.
ResultSpecifies the result of the quality control check — Passed or Failed.

To filter the list, use the search bar at the top of the page. For example, to find all checks for a specific purchase order, enter the document number in the search bar.

Select the Exit button to close the Quality Control App and return to Business Central.

Open the Quality Control Checks list

To process quality control checks directly in Business Central:

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Quality Control Checks, and choose the related link. The Quality Control Checks list opens.
  2. Select a check to open the Quality Control Check card.

The list displays key information for each check, including the check number, status, document type and number, source, item, and lot. For example, to narrow the list to checks for a specific team or document type, use the filter pane.
