Quality control questions

Quality control questions define the individual measurements and checks that make up a quality plan. Each question specifies what is being measured, the type of answer expected, and how the answer is recorded.

To open the page, select the Search icon , enter Quality Control Questions, and choose the related link.

FieldDescription
CodeSpecifies a unique identifier for the question.
DescriptionSpecifies the question text displayed to users during quality checks.
Question TypeSpecifies the type of answer expected. Available types are:
  • Text
  • Integer
  • Decimal
  • DateTime
  • Option
  • Photo
  • Lot Attribute
Quality Control OptionSpecifies the option list used when Question Type is set to Option. The selected option must have at least one line defined. Only editable when Question Type is Option. For more information, see Quality control options and values.
Lot AttributeSpecifies how the lot attribute is handled when Question Type is set to Lot Attribute. Options are:
  • Check — validates the attribute value.
  • Set — updates the attribute value.
  • Check and Set — validates and updates the attribute value.
Defaults to Check when the question type is set to Lot Attribute.
Lot Attribute NameSpecifies the lot attribute linked to this question. Required when Question Type is Lot Attribute.
Quality Control EquipmentSpecifies the instrument or tool used to perform this measurement. Informational only — displayed to users in the Quality Control App as a reference. For more information, see Quality control equipment.
Category ValuesDisplays the categories assigned to this question. Categories group related questions together for collective scoring — for example, grouping several appearance checks under a single Minor Defects category. Select the field to open the category assignment page. Only available for questions of type Integer, Decimal, Option, or Lot Attribute. Read-only. For more information, see Quality control categories.
Formula SymbolSpecifies the symbol used to reference this question in calculated test formulas.
Formula Rounding PrecisionSpecifies the rounding precision for formula results on this question, overriding the global setting in Quality Control Setup. Enter a value such as 0.1, 0.01, or 0.001.
Action CodeSpecifies which alcohol strength value is updated when this question is posted. Only visible when the Aptean Beverage Alcohol Balance integration is active.

The Question Type cannot be changed after the question has been added to a quality check. If a change is required, remove the question from all open quality checks first.

A question cannot be deleted while it is referenced by quality check lines or quality plan lines.
