Register input
The Register Input screen displays the information of the individual item on the production BOM. The left navigation section displays the combined information of all data available for the selected item such as Batching, Location, Bin Code and so on.
You can enter the required information in the following fields: 1. In the Item field, select an item from the dropdown. All the items in a production BOM are available. Based on the item selected, the details associated with it are displayed on the left navigation.
The items with the Flushing Method field on the Item Card page set to Manual are only available in the dropdown.
-
In the License Plate field (labeled with the Package Caption value, or Package No. by default, when neither the Aptean License Plating extension is installed nor the Aptean Beverage Advanced Warehouse Management extension is enabled), select or enter a license plate or package identifier.
This field is visible for license plate-tracked items when the Aptean License Plating or Aptean Advanced Warehouse Management extension is installed and the location supports license plate tracking, and for any item with standard Business Central package tracking turned on regardless of location. -
In the Lot No. field, select a lot from the dropdown. This includes only the lots associated with the selected item.
The Inventory, Expiration Date and Bin Code field values get inherited based on the selection of value in the Lot No. field.
The Lot No. field is visible only when the linked item is lot tracked.
Consumption of items that are not lot tracked is not supported for locations where Bin Mandatory = True. When attributes are configured on the Lot Attributes FastTab of the Shop Floor Production Setup page, the selected attribute values appear as a pipe-separated line below the standard quantity, expiration date, and bin details for each lot in the Lot No. dropdown. For more information, see Set up shop floor production.
Select the ellipsis button on the Lot No. field to open the Available Lots lookup window. For details, see Available Lots lookup window below.
When selecting a non-lot tracked item or non-license plate tracked item to register, the Bin Code field is automatically populated with the bin code assigned to the component item.
- If the Restrict Consumption Bin toggle on the Shop Floor Production Setup page is turned off, you can change the Bin Code field value to any bin that has an existing bin content record for the selected item.
- If the toggle is turned on, the Bin Code field is non-editable.
-
In the Quantity (UOM) field, enter the quantity of the item you want to register as input.
When this registered value differs from the planned value, the differences are represented in the Registered field value with following color code:Grey – Indicates that the registered field value is less than or equal to the planned field value.
Orange - Indicates that the registered field value is greater than the planned field value.
This color code is also applicable to the progress bar in the Progress field on the Input page.
The Weight from scale (UOM) and Tare weight (UOM) fields are updated based on the Quantity (UOM) field and the configuration on the Production BOM page.
The Tare weight (UOM) field value is set to 0 by default. You can also enter a non-zero tare weight if required. However, the system displays an error if the Tare weight (UOM) field value is less than 0.
Execute the GET WEIGHT action to update the weight fields. These fields are visible only when the Aptean Weigh Scale extension is installed with this extension and the input item’s unit of measure matches the weigh scale unit of measure.
The Quantity Weight (UOM) field is updated based on the quantity of the item and the field values associated with catch weight on the Inventory FastTab of the Item Card page.
-
In the Comments field, you can add any comments or details as additional information.
-
Select Save or Save + New. Selecting Save will register the input and close the page, whereas Save + New will register the input and open a new Register Input page.
This is applicable only when the flushing method is set to manual.
Available Lots lookup window
The Available Lots lookup window provides a searchable table of all available lots for the selected item. The header shows the item description, item number, unit of measure, and variant code (when applicable) as context.
The table includes the following columns:
- Lot No. and Expiration Date are always shown and can be sorted.
- Bin Code and Inventory are always shown but are not sortable.
- Variant Code and Inspection Status appear only when at least one lot in the list carries that data.
- One column per SFP Setup attribute is added when attributes are configured on the Shop Floor Production Setup page. All other lot attributes are shown only in the details panel.
Select a row to highlight it and open the details panel on the right. Selecting the same row again deselects it and closes the panel. The details panel shows:
- The lot number, expiration date, bin code, inventory, and inspection status (when available).
- A Lot Origin Details section when lot origin data exists, showing vendor lot number, country of origin, certificate number, and production date. When a field has different values across multiple lot origin records, Multiple appears as a link that opens a full table of all records.
- A collapsible Lot Attributes section listing all lot attributes for the selected lot.
Select Confirm to apply the highlighted lot to the Lot No. field and close the lookup window.
- The variant, inspection status, and attribute columns use the Aptean Advanced Attributes, Aptean Inspection Status, and Aptean Lot Management extensions, and are shown only when those extensions are installed.
