Integration with Aptean Non Conformances
When the Aptean Quality Control extension is used in conjunction with the Aptean Non Conformances extension, you can create non-conformance documents directly from a quality control check and view the non-conformance documents already linked to it. This keeps the record of what failed and the record of how it is being resolved connected, without leaving the quality control check.
Non-conformance documents are separated into three types, according to who is accountable for the issue: customer, vendor, and internal.
The actions and FactBox described on this page are visible only when the Aptean Non Conformances extension is installed.
Create a non-conformance document from a quality control check
Non-conformance documents can be created from both unposted and posted quality control checks — for example, raising a vendor non-conformance as soon as an incoming inspection fails, or raising an internal non-conformance against a check that has already been posted.
- Open the quality control check.
- For an unposted check, select the Search icon
, enter Quality Control Checks, choose the related link, and then choose the check from the list. - For a posted check, select the Search icon , enter Posted Quality Control Checks, choose the related link, and then choose the check from the list.
- For an unposted check, select the Search icon
- On the action bar, choose Process, and then choose one of the following actions.

| Create Customer Non Conformance Document | Creates a customer non-conformance document associated with the quality control check. |
| Create Vendor Non Conformance Document | Creates a vendor non-conformance document associated with the quality control check. |
| Create Internal Non Conformance Document | Creates an internal non-conformance document associated with the quality control check. |
The new non-conformance document is linked to the quality control check, so the check remains traceable as the origin of the non-conformance.
View the non-conformance documents linked to a quality control check
- Open the quality control check as described above.
- On the action bar, choose Navigate, and then choose one of the following actions.

| Show Vendor Non Conformance Documents | Displays the vendor non-conformance documents associated with the quality control check. |
| Show Internal Non Conformance Documents | Displays the internal non-conformance documents associated with the quality control check. |
If no non-conformance document of the selected type is linked to the check, a message states that no associated non-conformances were found.
View linked non-conformance documents in the FactBox
On the Posted Quality Control Check card and the Posted Quality Control Checks list, the QC Non-Conformance FactBox lists every non-conformance document linked to the selected check, grouped by type. Each type appears as a heading, with the non-conformance documents of that type listed beneath it.

| Status | Specifies the status of the non-conformance document — Open, In Progress, or Closed. The field is blank on the type heading lines. |
| Reason | Specifies the reason code recorded on the non-conformance document. The field is blank on the type heading lines. |
