Integration with Aptean Weigh Scale (WSC)

When the Aptean Packaging extension is used in conjunction with the Aptean Weigh Scale extension, the system automatically updates Order Bound Shipping Container and Order Bound Shipping Units Weigh SCale Entries. This removes the need to enter the Qty. to Post manually on the Packaging page for the Order bound Shipping Conatiners associated with the License Plates.

Prerequisites

The integration applies only when all the following conditions are met:

  • In the Packaging Setup Packaging Calculation Method is set to Manual.
  • On the Register Packaging Setup page, the Inbound Transactions checkbox is selected and the Inbound - Order Bound checkbox is cleared for inbound transactions. For outbound transactions, the Outbound Transactions checkbox is selected and the Outbound - Order Bound checkbox is cleared. For more information, see Register packaging setup.
  • The Shipping Container recorded on the License Plate header is not set up as Item Bound on the Default Item Packaging page. For more information, see Default and Mandatory Packaging.

Locations set up for inventory picks or inventory put-aways are not supported.

When the Use Packaging for Receipt Weigh Scale or Use Packaging for Shipment Weigh Scale setting is enabled on the Item Card, and the corresponding Receipt Default Weigh Scale or Shipment Default Weigh Scale is configured on the Location Card, the system automatically updates the applicable Order Bound Shipping Containers and Shipping Units .

  • For License Plate -tracked items at a License Plate tracked location, the Order Bound Shipping Container is determined from the License Plate header, while the Order Bound Shipping Unit is determined from the transferred Weigh Scale Entry.

  • For Lot-tracked items, the Order Bound Shipping Container and Order Bound Shipping Unit are determined from the transferred Weigh Scale Entry.

    If the Use Packaging for Receipt Weigh Scale toggle is turned off on the Item Card, or the Receipt Default Weigh Scale field is not configured on the Location Card, the system continues to calculate Order Bound packaging transactions for inbound processes using the existing Default Packaging configuration.

    If the Use Packaging for Shipment Weigh Scale toggle is turned off on the Item Card, or the Shipment Default Weigh Scale field is not configured on the Location Card, the system continues to calculate Order Bound packaging transactions for outbound processes using the existing Default Packaging configuration.

    When a Weigh Scale Entry is either changed back to Pending status or deleted, the related Packaging Transactions are updated when the Recalculate Packaging action is performed. For more information, see Aptean Weigh Scale.
