Register packaging setup

To enable the automatic calculation of packaging for inbound and outbound transactions, you need to select specific checkboxes for each location. You can select these checkboxes when registering packaging. However, if packaging is registered with a scanner or another extension, you can clear the checkbox to avoid double registration of packaging.

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Register Packaging Setup, and then choose the related link.
    The Register Packaging Setup page opens.
  2. In the Location Code field, select the required location from the drop-down menu.
  3. Select the Inbound Transactions checkbox to enable automatic registration of packaging transactions for inbound transactions (Purchase orders, incoming transfer orders, and sales return orders pages).
    When the Inbound Transactions checkbox is selected on a specific location, the system automatically manages Item Bound packaging transactions. Order Bound packaging transactions are managed either by the system or by supported external applications, depending on the Inbound - Order Bound checkbox setting.
  4. Select the Outbound Transactions checkbox to enable automatic registration of packaging transactions for outbound transactions (sales orders, outbound transfer orders, and purchase return orders pages).
    When the Outbound Transactions checkbox is selected for a specific location, the system automatically manages Item Bound packaging transactions. Order Bound packaging transactions are managed either by the system or by supported external applications, depending on the Outbound - Order Bound checkbox setting.
  5. The Inbound - Item Bound checkbox is automatically selected when the Inbound Transactions checkbox is selected, allowing the system to automatically manage inbound Item Bound packaging transactions. When the Inbound Transactions checkbox is cleared, the Inbound - Item Bound checkbox is also cleared. This checkbox cannot be modified manually.
  6. Select the Inbound - Order Bound checkbox to allow the system to automatically manage outbound Order Bound packaging transactions. Clear the checkbox to allow supported external applications, such as License Plating (LPL), Weigh Scale (WSC), SSCC, and Mobile Warehouse (MWR), to manage outbound Order Bound packaging transactions. This checkbox can be cleared only when the Outbound Transactions checkbox is selected and Packaging Calculation Method is set to Manual.
  7. The Outbound - Item Bound checkbox is automatically selected when the Outbound Transactions checkbox is selected, allowing the system to automatically manage outbound Item Bound packaging transactions. When the Outbound Transactions checkbox is cleared, the Outbound - Item Bound checkbox is also cleared. This checkbox cannot be modified manually.
  8. Select the Outbound - Order Bound checkbox to allow the system to automatically manage outbound Order Bound packaging transactions. Clear the checkbox to allow supported external applications, such as License Plating (LPL), Weigh Scale (WSC), SSCC, and Mobile Warehouse (MWR), to manage outbound Order Bound packaging transactions. This checkbox can be cleared only when the Outbound Transactions checkbox is selected and Packaging Calculation Method is set to Manual. The register packaging setup is now complete.


Deleting the location in the Packaging Location field on the Location Card page does not completely remove it. To completely delete it, you must also delete the location from the Register Packaging Setup and the Locations page.


In the current release of Packaging Version 2602.0.0.0, the Order Bound packaging transactions is supported through the Weigh Scale (WSC) integration. Support for additional applications, such as License Plating (LPL), Mobile Warehouse (MWR), and SSCC will be introduced in future releases.
