The Post Shop Floor Production Time Entries report converts time entries into production registration entries and posts them as capacity ledger entries. The report processes both Shop Floor Production time entries and manually created BC Time Entries.

Prerequisites

  • The Post Time Shop Floor toggle on the Shop Floor Production Setup page must be turned on.
  • The production order routing lines must have a Shop Floor Production status of Finished.
  • For labor cost posting, a labor work center must be configured on the routing. For more information, see Routing Line for Labor Costs.

Run the report

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Post Shop Floor Production Time Entries, and then choose the related link. The Post Shop Floor Production Time Entries request page opens.

If the report is scheduled in the Job Queue, it cannot be run manually. The Job Queue entry must be put on hold before running the report manually.

  2. On the Options FastTab, configure the following options.

    FieldDescription
Process Time EntriesConverts time entries into production registration entries of type Time. Turning on this option automatically turns on Post Shop Floor Production Registration Entries.
Post Shop Floor Production Registration EntriesPosts production registration entries of type Time with the status Not Processed as capacity ledger entries. This option cannot be turned off while Process Time Entries is turned on.

To run the full posting flow, turn on both options. The report converts time entries into production registration entries and then immediately posts them as capacity.

To post only existing unposted production registration entries (for example, entries that previously failed due to missing setup), turn on only the Post Shop Floor Production Registration Entries option. The report does not create new registration entries in this case.

The system may produce errors during posting due to missing setup information (for example, General Ledger accounts). This can result in production registration entries with a Not Processed status. Turn on only the Post Shop Floor Production Registration Entries option to retry posting these entries after correcting the setup.

  3. Select a Posting Date Method field value to determine how the posting date is set on the capacity ledger entries.

    • Work Date: Uses the current work date as the posting date.
    • Ending Date: Uses the ending date of the time entry as the posting date. Time entries with the same ending date are grouped together.
    • Manual: Uses the date specified in the Posting Date field, which becomes visible when this option is selected.
  4. On the Filter FastTab, set filters to control which production orders or time entries are processed.

  5. Select OK.

Results

After the report runs successfully:

  • The time entries for Start-Up and Production statuses are marked as Posted on the Shop Floor Production Time Entries page.
  • The Production Registration Entry No. and Production Registration Labor Entry No. fields on the time entries are populated with the corresponding registration entry numbers.
  • The setup time (from Start-Up entries) and run time (from Production entries) are combined into production registration entries, which are then posted as Capacity Ledger Entries.
