Features

With the features added in this release of the Aptean Quality Control (BC) extension,

  • You can import the quality control plan lines from other existing quality plans by copying one or more plan lines on the Quality Control Plan page.

  • The Quality Control Plan page is available for import to ensure approved standards are reused. Draft, non-certified, and the current quality control plan are automatically excluded from the selection list.

  • You can import the quality control plan lines by executing the Import Plan Lines action. The quality control plan lines are automatically synchronized when the source plan status changes, such as when it is certified. This ensures all dependent plans are updated with the latest approved standards and relevant field changes.

  • The imported lines are highlighted with colour to separate them from manual lines. This makes it easier to read and quickly identify inherited quality controls.

  • You can delete all the imported lines by executing the Remove Imported Lines action from a specific source plan at once. A confirmation message appears to ensure the impact before removal.

  • The quality control plan lines cannot be re-imported into additional plans. Only original, manually created lines from the Quality Control Plan page are eligible for import.

  • You can configure calculated test questions on quality control plan lines using the Formula field to define mathematical expressions based on other questions. Additionally, the Calculated Question field allows the system to automatically compute answers. Formula symbol field validations have been implemented to ensure only valid expressions are saved and processed correctly.

  • You can ensure that the system validates calculated test formulas to reference only integer or decimal question types. Real-time validation prevents saving formulas that include non-numeric question types and displays clear error messages when invalid references are used. The system automatically determines the calculated result type and applies appropriate decimal precision for accurate calculation results.

  • You can have calculated questions automatically calculated during all required answers are entered on the Quality Control Checks page. Calculated fields are read-only and update automatically when any referenced value changes. The system clearly handles missing values and calculation errors to ensure reliable results.

  • You can calculate formula-based questions correctly across multiple samples during the Quality Control Checks page. The system supports sample-specific, cross-sample, and aggregate calculations using functions such as AVG, SUM, MIN, and MAX. Sample references are validated, and clear errors are shown when invalid or non-existent samples are used.

  • You can configure calculated test questions on quality control plan lines, where the system ensures that the Readings field value is set to 1 when the Calculated Question checkbox is selected. This validation prevents multiple readings for calculated questions and ensures accurate calculation results.

  • You can calculate per samplein the Calculated Questions field using only the current sample’s data. The system automatically calculates multiple readings and applies formulas independently for each sample. Calculated results remain isolated per sample and update automatically as values change.

  • You can select the per sample frequency type even when the Required Samples field value is set to 1 while configuring calculated test questions. The system allows calculated tests to run correctly with a single sample and no longer blocks the Per Sample frequency selection.   • You can define the default Formula Code field value on the Quality Control Questions page to simplify the calculated test setup. When a question is added to quality control plan lines, the Formula Symbol field value is automatically populated from the question. You can change the formula symbol on the plan line without affecting the original question configuration.

  • You can add the Round Precision field value to both the Quality Control Setup page and Quality Control Question pages. The field is editable on the pages and stored in the related tables. For more information, see Standardized round precision for calculated tests.

  • You can view and attach image files to all quality control question types in Business Central, not just photo-type questions. For more information, see Manage quality control checks.

  • You can use the Exit button to close the Quality Control App page and return to Business Central without repeatedly selecting the Back button.

  • Utilize the Finish Before Posting Doc field on the Quality Control Trigger page for production order type triggers.

  • The system allows multiple open quality control checks to exist simultaneously for the same production order line when configured on production order-type triggers.

  • The system applies location-based filtering to inspection status quality control triggers, ensuring checks are only created for lots at specified locations. For more information, see Integration with Aptean Inspection Status.

  • The system maintains a persistent link between Quality Control Checks and related posted warehouse shipments and receipts by storing the posted document type and document number on the Quality Control Check, ensuring consistent traceability across all supported posting flows, including historical documents, regardless of posting sequence. For more information, see Create ad-hoc quality control check.

  • The system copies an existing quality control plan to create a new plan based on the same structure. The new plan is created as a separate plan while preserving the structure of the source plan. For more information, see Set up quality control plans.

  • The system enforces First or Last calculation methods for lot attribute questions that update lot values and supports numeric targets for decimal and integer lot attributes, with entered values validated against defined minimum and maximum limits during quality check processing. For more information, see Quality control questions.

Enhancements/Modifications

With this release of the Aptean Quality Control (BC) extension,

  • The Aptean Quality Control (Power Apps) will no longer be supported. The Power App can still be used, but Aptean will no longer support new features, and the stability of the Power App can no longer be guaranteed.

  • The translations have been updated in German with standard texts for better readability.

UI/UX changes

The following UI/UX changes have been made in this release.

  • The Images action has been added to the Lines FastTab on the Quality Control Check page.
  • The Copy Quality Control Plan action has been added to the Quality Control Plan page.
  • The Related action is added to the Quality Control Check page.
  • The Import Plan Lines and Remove Imported Lines actions have been added to the Quality Control Plan page.
  • The Posted Document Type and Posted Document No. fields are added to the Quality Control Check page.
  • The Formula Rounding Precision field has been added to the Quality Control Setup page.
  • The Formula Rounding Precision and Formula Symbol fields have been added to the Quality Control Questions page.
  • The Allow Multiple Open Checks checkbox has been added to the Quality Control Trigger page.
  • The Exit button has been added to all pages associated with the Quality Control App page.
  • The error message displayed on the Quality Control App page when a required comment has been omitted now includes the question description.

Resolved issues

The following issues have been resolved in this release.
