Language and locale configuration

, enter Mobile Setup, and then choose the related link. The Mobile Setup page opens.
-
Set the App Locale Code field (for example, NLD for Dutch).
This controls date and number formatting for all users (for example, 31.12.2025 vs 12/31/2025).
To assign language per user (optional)
-
Select the Search icon
, enter Mobile User Assignments, and then choose the related link. The Mobile User Assignments page opens.
-
Set the Language Code for each user.
This overrides the app locale for that user's UI labels and text.
Supported languages: English (default), Danish, German, Spanish, French, Dutch, Swedish, and Chinese.
How it works on the mobile app
On the mobile app, the language is applied and managed automatically based on your setup in Business Central:
- The language loads automatically when you sign in—no action is required.
- The app temporarily stores your language preference on the device.
- When you sign out, the stored preference is cleared. On the next sign-in, the language is loaded again from Business Central.
Fallback rules
The system uses the following order to decide which language to display:
- If a language is set for the user, the system uses that language.
- If no user language is set, the system uses the App Locale Code field value.
- If no App Locale Code field value is set, the system defaults to English (en-US).
- If a translation is not available in the selected language, the system shows that specific text in English.
