Introduction
The Aptean Mesh extension is a server-driven mobile platform that connects Android devices to Microsoft Business Central. Every screen, field, and workflow step is defined in Business Central and delivered to the device dynamically — the app renders what the server describes. This makes Mesh unlike any other mobile ERP client.
The standard app bundle
Out of the box, Aptean Mesh includes a complete standard app bundle covering the core warehouse workflows supported by Business Central:
- Warehouse receipt — Scan warehouse receipts, capture lot numbers and expiry dates, select your unit of measure, and post from the floor.
- Warehouse put-away — Place received items into designated storage bins using guided scan steps.
- Warehouse pick — Work through shipment lines one at a time with lot allocation applied at the moment of selection.
- Inventory movement — Bin-to-bin movements within a location using pre-created warehouse activity documents.
- Ad-hoc movement — Free-form bin-to-bin transfers without a warehouse document, posted immediately via the Item Reclassification Journal.
- Inventory adjustment — Positive and negative adjustments with full lot support directly from the mobile device.
- Bin contents — Look up what is in any bin with progressive filtering by bin, item, and variant.
The standard app bundle works with standard Business Central.
Extensibility
The standard bundle is just the beginning. Because Mesh is a platform, not a fixed product, every workflow in the standard bundle can be reconfigured and every new workflow you can imagine can be added through Business Central extensions.
The moment your BC extension is deployed, every device sees the new workflow — no app update, no redeployment, no coordination across a fleet of handhelds.
- To use the Aptean Mesh extension, the Aptean Labeling extension must be installed.
