Manage formulation versions
Version control enables iterative formulation development while maintaining historical records and supporting regulatory approval workflows.
To create a new formulation version, follow these steps:
- On the Formulation page, on the action bar, select Versions. The Formulation Versions page opens.
- Select New to create a new version.

Configure the version parameters.

Version No.: Enter a unique version identifier. The system can auto-generate this based on the number series configured in Version nos on the formulation.

Description: Enter a description of changes or purpose of this version, such as cost optimization".

Status: Select the lifecycle status: New, Under Development, Certified, or Closed. Only one version per formulation can be Certified at a time.

Effective Date: Specify when this version becomes effective for production use.

The system maintains complete traceability between versions and prevents modifications to certified formulations to ensure regulatory compliance and change control.
Version change notification for open sales quotes
When activating a new formulation version or changing the certified status of an active version, the system displays an informational notification alerting users to the number of open sales quotes that were created based on the affected version. This notification ensures users are aware of potential commercial document impacts and can review and update quotes as needed.
The notification is displayed as a non-blocking dialog that allows users to proceed with the version change while being fully informed. Users can navigate to the affected quotes directly from the notification to take appropriate action.
