Features

With the features added in this release of the Aptean Beverage Advanced Warehouse Management extension, Drink-IT Edition,

  • a new LPN Mandatory Customer Prints field is available in the License Plate Control group on the License Plate FastTab of the Adv. Warehouse Setup page. A new Warehouse Process Control FastTab is also available on the same page, grouping the Default Break Bulk Filter, Delete Empty Whse Put-Away, and Whse. Shipment Bin Code Update field values that were previously part of other groups. Turning on the LPN Mandatory Customer Prints field value requires at least one customer to have a License Plate Tracking Code with an outbound, negative adjustment rule referencing a posted shipment or a posted sales invoice; an error is shown otherwise. Turning off the field value is always allowed. A new Shipment Printed field is also available on the General FastTab of the License Plate page and list, which is set after a license plate's label is printed from a warehouse shipment.

    This feature is delivered together with the Aptean Warehouse Management System extension, which uses the LPN Mandatory Customer Prints field value and the Shipment Printed field introduced here to run its own confirmation and reprint flow on the Print label(s) action of the Warehouse Shipment page.

  • a new LPN Customer Shipment Restriction field is available in the License Plate Control group on the License Plate FastTab of the Adv. Warehouse Setup page, restricting how items and lots can be mixed on one LPN when shipping LPN's for customers; the field value can be set to Not Enabled (default), Single item Multiple Lot Nos., or Single Item and Lot No.. A new LPN Customer Shipment Restriction field is also available in the Advanced Warehouse Management group on the Customer Card page to override the setup default for one customer; the field value can be set to Setup (Default), Not Enabled, Single item Multiple Lot Nos., or Single Item and Lot No.. A new LPN Shipment Restriction field on the Advanced Warehouse Management FastTab of the Warehouse Shipment page is calculated automatically from the LPN Customer Shipment Restriction field values of the involved customers whenever every destination on the shipment is a customer, applying the most restrictive value found among them (Single Item and Lot No. over Single item Multiple Lot Nos. over Not Enabled); the field value is reset to Not Enabled whenever any shipment line's destination is not a customer. The field is editable only while every destination is a customer, and choosing a less restrictive value than the most restrictive customer setup requires confirmation. Registering a warehouse pick line raises an error when the destination license plate content would violate the shipment's LPN Shipment Restriction field value: mixing items is blocked once the field value is Single item Multiple Lot Nos., and mixing items or lots is blocked once the field value is Single Item and Lot No., which also blocks picking from an Auto FEFO ("All Content") bin holding multiple lots of the picked item. Creating a warehouse pick adds a comment naming the LPN Shipment Restriction field value on the pick whenever it differs from the LPN Customer Shipment Restriction field value on the Adv. Warehouse Setup page.

    This feature is delivered together with the Aptean Warehouse Management System extension, which enforces the Auto FEFO ("All Content") bin check during scanner pick registrations.

Enhancements/Modifications

With this release of the Aptean Beverage Advanced Warehouse Management extension, Drink-IT Edition, the following enhancements have been made.

  • The Get Bin Content action on a transfer order carries the license plate tracking of the bin content into the transfer order lines, in addition to the item tracking. The license plate numbers and lot numbers are taken over from the bin, so the transfer order reflects exactly which pallets are transferred. To keep the lines aligned with the bin content, the Item No., Quantity, Unit of Measure Code and Variant Code fields cannot be changed manually in a line created by the action, and manually added lines cannot be mixed with lines created by the action on the same transfer order. The license plate tracking is carried forward to the warehouse shipment and the warehouse pick.

  • You can use the Handle Get Bin Content Flow action on the Transfer Order page to create the warehouse shipment, create the warehouse picks with the default warehouse template group of the location, and register the picks in one step. The action is available when at least one transfer order line is created by the Get Bin Content action. When the location does not require a shipment, a message is displayed and no warehouse shipment is created.

  • The Get Bin Content action on the Movement Worksheet page carries the license plate tracking of the bin content into the LP Tracking Entries, in addition to the item tracking, so a planned warehouse movement reflects exactly which pallets are moved. A new From Get Bin Content field on the Movement Worksheet page is set to Yes for a line created by the action. Adding a manually entered line while a line created by the action exists on the same worksheet, or changing any field other than the To Zone Code or To Bin Code field on a line created by the action, requires confirmation, since either change resets the From Get Bin Content field value to No for every line on the worksheet and stops the license plate tracking from carrying over to the warehouse movement. Deleting a line created by the action also requires confirmation, since the license plate tracking information may no longer match the actual bin content afterward. The Create Movement action carries the license plate numbers and license plate types into the created Warehouse Movement lines, and sets a matching From Get Bin Content field there to Yes, only when every line on the worksheet was created by the action; otherwise the warehouse movement is created without license plate tracking, as before. A Warehouse Movement line with the From Get Bin Content field value set to Yes cannot be changed manually.

  • The Get Bin Content action on the Item Journal page carries the license plate tracking of the bin content into the journal lines, alongside the item tracking. The lines it creates are marked as created by Get Bin Content, and on those lines the Item No., Quantity and Bin Code fields are not editable, while deleting such a line asks for confirmation because the license plate tracking may then no longer match the actual bin content. License plate tracking can be removed one license plate at a time until none remains, and an information message states that the quantities will be recalculated: the item tracking quantity and the line quantity follow the total of the remaining license plates, a lot that reaches quantity 0 is removed from the item tracking, and the line quantity becomes 0 once no license plate is left. Changing the item tracking quantity directly on such a line is blocked for an item that is both item and license plate tracked, with a message stating that the existing license plate tracking must be adjusted instead, after which the item tracking quantity follows. Lines created by the action and manually added lines can be combined on the same Item Journal page.

UI/UX changes

The following UI/UX changes have been made in this release.

  • The LPN Customer Shipment Restriction field has been added to the Adv. Warehouse Setup page.
  • The LPN Customer Shipment Restriction field has been added to the Customer Card page.
  • The LPN Shipment Restriction field has been added to the Warehouse Shipment page.
  • The Handle Get Bin Content Flow action has been added to the Transfer Order page.
  • The From Get Bin Content field has been added to the Lines FastTab on the Transfer Order page.
  • The From Get Bin Content field has been added to the Movement Worksheet page.
  • The From Get Bin Content field has been added to the Warehouse Movement page.
  • The Qty. to Handle (Base) field has been removed from the License Plate Reservation Entries page for Item Journal lines.
