Restore Sublot to its original lot

The restore sublot function merges a sublot back into its parent lot by transferring the desired quantity from the child lot to the original parent lot. The restore sublot can be used, for example, to consolidate inventory that was previously split for assembly, production, or another transaction back into the parent lot.

The Restore to Original Lot action is available on the Lot No. Information Card and Sublot List pages.

The item reclassification journal can be used for several reasons, such as performing system transfers by reclassifying bin and location codes. When using this journal, it is possible to specify the parent lot number in the item tracking lines. When restoring a sublot, information such as test quality and certificate number will not be copied back to the parent lot. The parent lot retains its existing properties.

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Lot No. Information List and then choose the related link.

  2. Select the required Sublot No.

  3. On the Lot No. Information Card page, on the action bar, select Actions > Restore to Original Lot.

    When the Aptean License Plating extension is installed, you can restore the sublot by following the below procedure.

    To restore the sublot, follow these steps:
    1. On the Sublot FastTab, select the required Location Code.
    The license plate(s) lines that contain inventory for the sublot number on the selected location will be shown. 2. Select the Restore Sublot checkbox to indicate which license plate(s) need to be restored. 3. On the Lot FastTab, fill in the Reason Code field. 4. Click OK to restore the sublot. If you need to move the inventory to the parent lot's license plate number or location/bin code before restoring, you can use the Item Reclassification Journal or the Move License Plate action. Since the stock can be located in several locations and/or bins, it is necessary to select one location-bin combination from which you want to restore the sublot.

  4. On the Restore to Original Lot page, select the required location code to view the availability of the selected sublot in that location.
  5. Click OK.

After selecting the location code, multiple fields are automatically filled.

  • The Bin Code field for the parent lot is automatically filled.
  • The Bin Code, Quantity, and Unit of Measure Code field values are automatically filled on the lines.

Note: The system inherits license plate information in the fields on the License Plate(s) FastTab from the Aptean License Plating or Aptean Beverage Advanced Warehouse Management extension, depending on which extension is enabled on the Feature Control page.

The Original Lot No. field is automatically filled with the original parent lot number from which the sublot was created.

The desired amount to transfer back from the sublot to the parent lot must be entered in the Quantity field.

  1. In the Quantity to Restore field, enter the desired quantity.

    You can select the Location Code and Bin Code field values of the parent lot to which the inventory will be restored.

  2. In the Location Code field, select a value.

  3. In the required Bin Code field, select a value.

  4. Click OK.

  5. In the Reason Code field, select a value to explain why the sublot was restored, and enter additional details in the Comment field.

  6. Click OK.

The sublot is now restored.

You cannot restore sublot in the following cases:

  • Reservation entries exist for the sublot number. Select the Open Reservation Entries link in the notification to view the related entries.
  • The Allow Sublots for Blocked Lots toggle on the Sublot Management Setup page is turned on, and the lot is blocked or has a blocking inspection status.
