Set up simple factory wizard

Simple Factory Wizard  •  Article  •  4/22/2026  •

The Simple Factory Wizard Setup page is used to link a lot attribute to the Lot Production Date field across simple factory wizard planning pages, enabling lot production date–based planning for lot-tracked items.

The label of the Lot Production Date field is defined in the Aptean Expiration Management extension. For example, you can configure it as Depot Date, Manufacture Date, or any label that fits your process. The value shown in this field is taken from the Lot Attribute field that you link on this setup page.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure the Aptean Expiration Management extension is installed and the lot production date caption is configured on the Expiration Management Setup page.
  • Ensure the Aptean Advanced Attribute extension is installed and a lot attribute of type, Date is created.

To configure the Simple Factory Wizard Setup page, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Simple Factory Wizard Setup, and then choose the related link.

The Simple Factory Wizard Setup page opens.

  2. In the Lot Attribute for Lot Production Date field, select the lot attribute that provides the value for the Lot Production Date field across all simple factory wizard planning pages. The field shows all lot attributes where the Type field value is set to Date. The field label shown on the planning pages is based on the Lot Production Date caption configured on the Expiration Management Setup page.
  3. Select OK to save the setup.

The Lot Production Date field is active across the Demand Forecast Entries, Suggested Demand Lines, and Simple Planning Worksheet pages. The field label matches the caption defined on the Expiration Management Setup page, and the value is sourced from the linked lot attribute.

If the Aptean Expiration Management extension is not installed, the Lot Production Date field is not displayed anywhere in the simple factory wizard. The earlier Label Date field is also not shown in this case, as it has been obsoleted as of version 2601.0.0.0.
