Set up work instructions in shop floor production

This page describes how to configure the SharePoint connection in Business Central for the delegated permissions setup. Before proceeding, complete the delegated permissions app registration in the Azure portal.

Using the SharePoint Tenant ID, Client ID, client secret, SharePoint URL, and document library name from the app registration, configure the Shop Floor Production Setup page in Business Central.

  1. Open the Shop Floor Production Setup page.
  2. On the Work Instructions FastTab, in the SharePoint Tenant ID field, enter the Azure AD tenant ID or domain for the SharePoint tenant. Use this when the SharePoint site belongs to a different organization than the Business Central environment. Leave the field empty to use the default tenant. Examples: contoso.onmicrosoft.com or a GUID such as 12345678-1234-1234-1234-123456789012.
  3. In the Client ID field, enter the unique identification number assigned to the application user.
  4. In the Client Secret field, enter the secret credentials to authenticate and authorize access to Azure resources.
  5. In the Site URL field, enter the SharePoint site URL where the document folder is created.
  6. In the Document Library Name field, enter the document library name containing the work instruction PDFs or specify where you want to store them.

Create a direct folder on SharePoint and save all files in PDF format within it. Subfolders are not supported.

When the SharePoint Tenant ID field is left empty, the SharePoint app registration is resolved in the same tenant as the Business Central environment. When the field contains a value, the connection resolves the app registration in the specified tenant — the app registration must exist in that tenant with the required SharePoint API permissions, and admin consent must be granted there.
