Integration with Aptean Quality Control (BC)
When the Aptean Shop Floor Production (BC) extension is used in conjunction with the Aptean Quality Control (BC) extension, you can navigate to quality checks on the Quality Control App page from production orders for streamlined quality control during production. To know more, see Production Order Overview.
Further, you can navigate from production orders to quality checks on the Quality Control App page for streamlined quality control during production and set up recurring job queue checks using the Create Job Queue Entry for Recurring Quality Control Checks – QCA action on the Shop Floor Production Setup page. For more information, see Integration with Aptean Shop Floor Production (BC).
View the quality check badge on input and output pages
A quality check badge appears in the top bar of the Input list page and the Output list page, showing the open quality check count for the current production order. The badge shows the same count as the quality tile on the Production Order Overview page.
Select the badge to open the Quality Control App pre-filtered to the production order. The badge is hidden when the open quality check count is zero, and a loading indicator is shown while the Quality Control App is opening. The count is refreshed after a registration is posted and when the global refresh button is selected.
When the Return to SFP After QC Post toggle is turned on in Shop Floor Production Setup, posting a Quality Check successfully from this badge closes the Quality Control App automatically and returns to the production order, instead of opening the Posted Quality Check page.
Create an ad-hoc quality check
A one-off quality check can be created directly from the Production Order Overview page without leaving Shop Floor Production.
-
On the Production Order Overview page, select the + button next to the quality tile.
A dialog opens with the production order number, line number, operation number, routing number, work center, and location code shown as read-only. -
Enter information in the following fields:
Field Description QC Team Select the quality control team. The team is pre-populated from the Default QC Team field on the Shop Floor Production Setup page when configured, and can be changed. QC Plan Select the quality plan. Only certified plans with an effective date on or before the work date are offered. -
Select OK.
The quality check is created and a message offers direct navigation to the new check in the Quality Control App.
- The OK button is not available until both the QC Team and QC Plan fields are filled in.
- When the check cannot be created — for example, the plan is not certified or its effective date is in the future — the dialog displays the error and preserves the entered values.
For example, an operator notices an off-odour while running a production order. The operator opens the Production Order Overview page, selects the + button next to the quality tile, accepts the default QC Team, selects a certified QC Plan, and selects OK. The quality check is created against the production order, and the operator chooses to navigate straight to it in the Quality Control App.
Track multiple simultaneous recurring quality checks
Multiple recurring quality check triggers can run at the same time on a single production order routing line. Each trigger is tracked independently and scheduled against the actual cumulative production time, so a late job queue run does not skew the schedule.
Select the Recurring Quality action on the Prod. Order Routing page to open the Recurring Quality Check Tracking page. The page lists every tracking row for the routing line, including the following:
- The Next Check Expected column shows the calculated wall-clock estimate, the remaining production minutes, or the target quantity, based on the trigger type and production status. An asterisk indicates the next check will not be created automatically because an open quality check has not yet been posted for the trigger.
- The Open QC Checks Count and Posted QC Checks Count columns show the related check counts and drill down to the matching checks.
- The Active field shows whether the job queue evaluates the row.
Select the Force Check Now action to create a quality check immediately for the selected row and reset the recurring baseline so the next scheduled check is measured from that moment. The action is blocked when an open quality check already exists for the trigger and the Allow Multiple Open Checks field is turned off, or when the production order line has reached the Max Recurring QCA limit on the Shop Floor Production Setup page.
Turn on the Create First Recurring Check on Start field on the QC Triggers page to create the first quality check the moment production starts for a matching trigger, before the first interval elapses. The field is editable only when the Recurring Type field is set to Recurring Qty or Recurring Time.
For example, a routing line matches a temperature trigger every 30 minutes and a weight trigger every 60 minutes. When production reaches 35 minutes of actual production time, a quality check is created for the 30-minute trigger while the 60-minute trigger continues to wait, and the Recurring Quality Check Tracking page shows the next expected check for each trigger.
