Walkthrough: Adjust quantities on a License Plate tracked shipment line

On a Warehouse Shipment line for an item that is License Plate tracked, the quantity to handle in the License Plate Reservation Entries, the quantity to handle in the Item Tracking Lines, and the Qty. to Ship field value on the line are kept in sync. Reducing the quantity to ship no longer requires deleting the License Plate Tracking first.

Open License Plate Tracking on a shipment line

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Warehouse Shipments, and then choose the related link.
    The Warehouse Shipment page opens.
  2. Select a line for an item that is License Plate tracked, either because the item itself requires License Plate tracking, or because the destination customer or vendor does.
  3. Select the License Plate Tracking action.
    The License Plate Reservation Entries page opens.

The License Plate Tracking action can be selected on a line that is License Plate tracked only through the License Plate Tracking Code field value on the destination customer or vendor, not only when the item itself requires License Plate tracking.

Reduce the quantity to ship

  1. On the License Plate Reservation Entries page, reduce the Qty. to Handle (Base) field value on one or more lines, or delete a line.
  2. Close the page.
    The following field values are updated automatically:
    • for a lot tracked item, the Qty. to Handle field value of the lot on the Item Tracking Lines page is adjusted to the total quantity to handle across the remaining License Plate Reservation Entries lines for that lot, and the Qty. to Ship field value on the Warehouse Shipment line is then adjusted to the total quantity to handle across the Item Tracking lines;
    • for an item that is not lot tracked, the Qty. to Ship field value on the Warehouse Shipment line is adjusted directly to the total quantity to handle across the remaining License Plate Reservation Entries lines.
  • The Qty. to Handle field value on the Item Tracking Lines page cannot be reduced below the total quantity to handle in the License Plate Reservation Entries for the same lot.
  • The Qty. to Ship field value on the Warehouse Shipment line cannot be reduced below the total quantity to handle in the Item Tracking Lines (lot tracked items) or in the License Plate Reservation Entries (items that are not lot tracked).
  • Reduce the License Plate Reservation Entries first, and close that page, before reducing the Item Tracking Lines. Reducing the Item Tracking Lines first raises the floor error, because the License Plate Reservation Entries total has not been lowered yet.

For example, a Warehouse Shipment line has 2 pallets picked and License Plate tracked, but only 1 pallet can be shipped today. Deleting the license plate line for the pallet that stays behind, on the License Plate Reservation Entries page, automatically reduces the Item Tracking and the Qty. to Ship field value on the Warehouse Shipment line to the quantity of the remaining pallet.
