Splitting warehouse receipt lines in scanner
You can split the lines based on warehouse receipt based on the item tracking lines in Business Central.
The system ensures that lot numbers and expiration dates assigned in the item tracking ines of a purchase order are fully respected during warehouse receiving on the scanner.
Key behavior:
- The system will take over the lot numbers, expiration dates from the item tracking lines in the Business Central warehouse receipt.
- Based on the item tracking lines in Business Central, lines in the scanner will be split to the different lot numbers.
- Select lot number dialog box will be opened while scanning the item/item reference for a fully tracked item. Allows you to enter only the available lots in the item tracking for fully tracked item.
- Enter lot number dialog box will be opened while scanning the item/item reference for a non-fully tracked item.
Partial receiving with mixed reserved and non reserved lots
This ensures that during partial receiving of a warehouse receipt, existing lot reservations are preserved when a different (non-reserved) lot is received first.
The system will reduce only the flexible quantity and maintain the reserved lot quantities intact. This prevents unintended deletion of reservations and ensures accurate lot-controlled inventory handling.
Over-receiving prevention on WMS scanner with multiple lots
The enforces lot-level validation during warehouse receipt to prevent over-receiving against individually reserved lots.
The system validates received quantities against the specific lot reservation rather than the total document line quantity. If the entered quantity exceeds the reserved quantity for that lot, the system blocks the transaction with an appropriate error message.
After successful partial receipt within limits, the remaining reserved quantity for the lot is correctly updated.
Key features:
- Lot-level quantity validation:
The system validates received quantities against the reserved quantity of each individual lot, not the total line quantity. - Prevention of over-receiving:
Users are blocked from receiving more than the reserved quantity for a specific lot, even if the total line quantity is not exceeded. - Real-time error messaging:
Clear error message is displayed when the entered quantity exceeds the allowed quantity for the selected lot. - Accurate reservation updates:
After partial receipt, the system correctly updates the remaining reserved quantity for the lot. - Scanner-level enforcement:
Validation occurs directly in the WMS scanner process to prevent incorrect posting before completion. - Controlled inventory integrity:
Ensures strict lot compliance and prevents unintended inventory inconsistencies.
Multiple lines with same item - correct lot-to-line mapping
The system ensures that when the same item appears on multiple purchase order lines with different lot reservations, each received lot is correctly mapped to its originating line.
The scanner enforces line-level lot validation and prevents cross-line posting errors.
If a lot from another line is scanned, the system prompts the user to switch to the correct line, ensuring accurate and controlled receiving.
Warehouse Management System can only process receipts of only 1 source document per receipt.
Key features:
- Line-evel lot mapping:
Each lot is explicitly linked to its originating purchase order line during warehouse receipt processing. - Multiple line handling for same item:
The scanner displays separate lines for the same item when it exists on multiple purchase order lines with different lot reservations. - Cross-line validation control:
The system prevents posting a lot against the wrong purchase order line. - Automatic line detection:
If a lot belonging to a different line is scanned, the system detects the mismatch in real time. - User navigation prompt:
The scanner prompts the user to switch to the correct line before proceeding with receipt. - Data integrity protection:
Ensures no cross-contamination of quantities or lot reservations between purchase order lines.
