- Freight trade plans configured for use in sales documents are fully supported for:
- Expected cost posting
- Costs to be invoiced
- Actual cost posting using general ledger accounts
- When a sales order is released and posted:
- The system automatically inserts applicable document-level freight trade lines.
- Freight costs are posted during shipment posting, creating expected general ledger entries.
- Freight-related general ledger entries are automatically:
- Linked to the sales shipment item ledger entry, and
- Associated with the originating freight trade plan for traceability.
- When the related transport vendor invoice is posted:
- The system reverses the originally posted interim general ledger entries using the exact general ledger accounts originally used, regardless of any later trade plan changes.
- A new actual cost general ledger entry is created using the general ledger account specified in the sales invoice line.
- All freight cost postings are consistently tracked through existing:
- Trade accrual entries, and
- General ledger entry extension records.
