Scale Integration  •  Article  •  8/1/2023  •

With this feature you can assign new scales to your company. Every Scale acquires a unique combination created based on PrintNode IDs and devices connected to the scale. The following procedures describe how to perform this activity.

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Scales, and then choose the related link.
    The Scales page opens.
  2. On the Scales page, select New.
The system adds a new line.
  3. Fill in the below mentioned fields:

    FieldDescription
CodeSpecifies the code assigned to the selected scale.
DescriptionSpecifies the description of the selected scale.
Scale PrintNode IDSpecifies the unique ID assigned to the scale in the PrintNode application. In the PrintNode Client, on the Scales tab, this ID is the number at the end of the scale name in parentheses. For example, (vendor: DYMO, stream: 0) means the Scale PrintNode ID is 0.
Scale Device nameSpecifies the device/system name where the scale has been used by the PrintNode application.
Scale PrintNode Computer IDSpecifies the unique ID assigned to the computer by the PrintNode application. In the PrintNode Client, this ID is on the Logs tab. In the PrintNode web browser, open Devices. PrintNode adds this number to the end of the computer name.
Scale VerificationSpecifies the status of the scale and authenticates the data entered on this page. Initially, when data is entered, the field displays Waiting to indicate that the information is pending verification. However, if you modify the field value to Verified, the system will proceed to validate the combination of the Scale PintNode ID, Scale Device Name, and Scale PrintNode Computer ID field values within the PrintNode application. The scale does not appear in Scale Code on Location Scale Integration Setup until this field is Verified.

The values in the Scale PrintNode ID, Scale Device Name, and Scale PrintNode Computer ID fields come from PrintNode:

  • Scale PrintNode ID. In the PrintNode Client, open the Scales tab. When a scale is listed, the ID is the number at the end of the name in parentheses. For example, (vendor: DYMO, stream: 0) means the Scale PrintNode ID is 0.
  • Scale PrintNode Computer ID. In the PrintNode Client, open the Logs tab. You can also find this ID in the PrintNode web browser. In Devices, PrintNode adds the number to the end of the computer name.

To set up the PrintNode application and the API key used on Scale API Setup, see PrintNode Setup.
