Configure profile rules value override modes

Field-level override rules can be configured with multiple transformation modes, including text replacement, range display, threshold comparison, and field omission. To configure profile rules value override modes, follow these steps:

1. Select the Search icon , enter Report Profiles, and then choose the related link.
   The Report Profiles page opens.
2. Open the report profile you want to configure.
3. On the Report Profile Card page, expand the Profile Rules section.
4. Select the field rule you want to configure.
5. In the Override Mode field, select the transformation type.
   The available options are:
   • Text: Replace field value with custom text.
   • Range: Display range of values (from-to format).
   • Threshold: Apply conditional logic based on numeric thresholds.
   • Omit: Exclude field from report output.

Configure the mode-specific parameters based on your selected override mode.

Replace blank field values in Text override mode

In Text override mode, the Condition Expression field cannot match a blank field value, because leaving it empty applies the text value to every record. To replace only blank values, follow these steps:

1. On the Report Profile Card page, expand the Profile Rules section.
2. Select the field rule you want to configure and set the Override Mode field to Text.
3. On the action bar, select Parameters.
   The Rule Parameters page opens.
4. Select the Apply When Blank checkbox.
5. In the Text Value field, enter the text to show when the field value is blank.
6. Leave the Alternative Text field empty to keep the original value when the field is not blank.

For example, on a sales order the Currency Code field is blank for the local currency. Select Apply When Blank and enter EURO in the Text Value field to print EURO for local currency orders, while foreign currency orders keep their own currency code.

When the Apply When Blank checkbox is selected, the Condition Expression field is not evaluated.
