To configure the Production Order Linking Setup page, follow these steps:
- Select the Search icon
, enter Production Order Linking Setup, and then choose the related link.
The Production Order Linking Setup page opens.
If you open the setup page for the first time, the system automatically creates a new setup record - On the General FastTab, in the Link Deletion Policy field, select the policy that matches your governance requirements. The available options are:
- Prevent: Blocks deletion of production orders or components with active links. Use Prevent to maintain data integrity.
- Prompt: Asks user to confirm before deleting linked orders.
- Auto-delete: Automatically removes links when production orders are deleted.
- In the Output Posting Behavior field, select the behavior when upstream output is posted with a lot number. The available options are:
- None: No automatic allocation or reservation. Use None if you prefer manual allocation control.
- Allocate Only: Allocate lot to downstream components automatically.
- Allocate and Reserve: Allocate a lot and create specific reservations.
- Navigate to the Linking Suggestions FastTab.
- In the Link Suggestions Date Window field, enter the time window for generating suggestions.
The system generates link suggestions for make-to-order production orders when upstream and downstream orders fall within this date window. For example, if you enter 3D, the system suggests links when upstream finish dates are within 3 days before or after downstream start dates. Recommended value is 2D to 5D depending on your production lead times. - On the Propagation FastTab, turn on the Enable Reverse Propagation toggle to enable automatic reverse quantity propagation/bidirectional propagation.
When selected, downstream component quantity changes can propagate back to upstream production order outputs. When cleared, only forward propagation (upstream to downstream) is allowed. You can select - In the Upstream Propagation Type field, select the propagation type for upstream orders. The available options are:
- Automatic: Quantity changes propagate immediately without confirmation.
- Manual: Upstream quantity changes require manual confirmation.
- Turn on the Enable Automatic Date Propagation toggle to enable automatic date/time propagation.
When selected, upstream finish date/time changes propagate to downstream start date/time using routing offsets. Locked downstream orders block date moves with clear error messages.
The setup is automatically saved when you close the page.
