When the Upstream Propagation Type field value is set to Automatic or Manual on the Production Order Linking Setup page, quantity changes in linked production orders can propagate. The system displays a preview dialog before applying changes.
Quantity propagation
Quantity propagation synchronizes upstream output with downstream required quantities:
- Forward propagation: Upstream output quantity changes adjust downstream required quantities according to allocation ratios.
- Reverse propagation: Downstream required quantity changes adjust upstream output quantities according to allocation ratios.
- Multi-downstream distribution: When one upstream supplies multiple downstream orders, changes distribute proportionally using allocated ratio %.
- Multi-upstream aggregation: When multiple upstream orders supply one downstream, the downstream aggregates the total from all upstream outputs.
To review the propagation preview, follow these steps:
When you change a quantity on a linked production order, the system displays the related information on the Quantity Propagation Preview page automatically.
You can view/enter the required information in the following fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Production Order No. | Specifies the production order affected by quantity propagation. |
| Line No. | Specifies the production order line number. |
| Line Type | Specifies whether this is an output line or component line. |
| Item No. | Specifies the item number. |
| Description | Specifies the item description. |
| Current Quantity | Specifies the current quantity before propagation. |
| New Quantity | Specifies the proposed new quantity after propagation. |
| Change Quantity | Specifies the quantity change (delta). |
| Allocated Ratio % | Specifies the allocation ratio used for calculation. |
| UOM Code | Specifies the unit of measure code. |
On the action bar, you can select Accept to apply the changes or Cancel to revert.
