When the Enable Automatic Date Propagation toggle on the Production Order Linking Setup page is turned on, date/time changes in linked production orders propagate automatically. The system displays a preview dialog before applying changes.
Date propagation
Date propagation synchronizes schedules between upstream and downstream production orders:
- Forward propagation: Upstream finish date/time drives downstream start date/time.
- Reverse propagation: Downstream start date/time adjusts upstream finish date/time.
- Routing offsets: The system uses BC routing offsets (Wait Time, Safety Lead Time) to calculate dependent dates.
- Lock handling: Locked downstream orders block date moves with clear error messages and resolution options.
When you change a date/time on a linked production order, the system displays the Date Propagation Preview page automatically.
