The Nutritional Content Configuration page allows administrators to specify which item attributes should be included in nutrition facts calculations.

To configure nutritional attributes, follow these steps:

  1. Select the Search icon, enter Nutritional Content Configuration, and then choose the related link.
    The Nutritional Content Configuration page opens.
  2. Select New to add a nutritional attribute.
  3. Configure the attribute information:
    Attribute: Select the item attribute name that contains nutritional information.
  4. Repeat for each nutritional attribute that should appear in nutritional content displays.

    The available action Formulation Attribute Aggregation Setup: Opens the Formulation Attribute Aggregation Setup page to configure how attributes are calculated and aggregated across formulation ingredients. This setup determines the calculation method (for each nutritional attribute. For more information, see Set up attribute aggregation page.

Per-Serving calculation formula

The Nutritional Content FactBox is displayed on the Formulation Card and Formulation Version Card pages.

  • For text-based attributes, values are displayed as-is without mathematical conversion.
  • For numerical attributes: Per-Serving Value = Aggregated Total Value ÷ Serving Count

Example:

Formulation Output: 175g total

Serving Size UOM: 25g

Serving Count: 7

Formulation Lines:

  • 100g Oats (contains 0.169 g protein/ gram)
  • 50g Honey (contains 0.003 g protein/ gram)
  • 25g Almonds (contains 0.212 g protein/ gram)

How the system calculates

  1. Calculation: It multiplies each ingredient's protein content by its quantity:
    • Oats protein: 100g × 0.169g/g = 16.9g
    • Honey protein: 50g × 0.003g/g = 0.15g
    • Almonds protein: 25g × 0.212g/g = 5.3g
    • Total protein in batch: 16.9 + 0.15 + 5.3 = 22.35g
  2. Per-Serving conversion: Divides by 7 servings:
    • Protein per serving: 22.35g ÷ 7 = 3.19g
  3. The Nutritional Content Per Serving FactBox shows Protein: 3.19g
