Use autofill to scan Box Label via Warehouse Pick

When you scan a License Plate tracked item in the Aptean Mobile Warehouse app, you can use the Autofill function to scan the Box Label barcode during a full or partial pick. The following prerequisites should be performed in Business Central to do so:

  • On the Extension Management page, install Catch Weight Extension, SSCC extension, LPL extension, and MWR extension.
  • On the Catch Weight Setup page, in the Unit of Measure Code field, choose KG.
  • On the Customer SSCC Setup page, turn off the Enable SSCC toggle and in the Require Shipping Unit field, choose BOX.
  • On the Item Card page, on the Inventory FastTab, turn on the Catch Weight toggle.

Full pick of a License Plate tracked item using Autofill

The following procedure describes how to perform a full pick of a License Plate tracked item using Autofill:

  1. On the Aptean Mobile Warehouse app home page, select the Pick icon.
  2. In the Pick/SO/Trans/WMS No. field, enter or scan the Warehouse Pick number.
  3. In the Identifier field, enter or scan the barcode.
    The License Plate No., Item No. and Lot No. are picked.
  4. Select the AssistEdit button on the top right corner, and choose Start Box Autofill (F7) to start the autofill process.
  5. In the Identifier field, enter or scan the Box Label barcode.
  6. Repeat step 5 to scan all the remaining Box Label barcode to complete the Pick.

Each Box Label barcode should consist of a different Shipping Unit No. In case, you have turned on the Mandatory SSCC Shipping Types toggle, you will have to approve the Shipping Container Code in Step 5.

  1. Repeat step 4 to stop autofill.

Once you register the Pick activity on the Aptean Mobile Warehouse app, the recorded scan data gets transferred to the Quantity to Handle and Weight Qty. Handled fields on the Warehouse Picks page. The Weight Qty. Handled field gets updated based on the average weight of the item on the License Plate. The Weight Quantity field is updated in the Posted SSCC Lines table on the Posted SSCC Card page in Business Central.

Auto-start box autofill in warehouse pick

  • To configure the auto-fill box for the warehouse pick operation, the Auto Start BOX Autofill description must be set to Yes on the Mobile Profile Setup page. The description is set to No by default.

  • To use the Auto-Start BOX Autofill setting in warehouse picking process, follow these steps:

    1. Open the Pick screen.
    2. Scan the license plate
    3. The system automatically starts the box auto fill based on the Auto-Start BOX Autofill setting as specified on the Mobile Profile Setup page.
    4. Scan the box label. Upon scanning a box label, the system captures and stores associated details such as the item number, lot number, quantity, and other relevant parameters.
    5. The system prompts the next box label.

    6. Scan the next box label until the total quantity is picked.

      If you manually stop box autofill using the Stop BOX Autofill action, it will automatically restart when you begin scanning a new license plate.

  • You can review the created mobile entries, which include the license plate number, lot number, quantity, shipping unit number, weight quantity details on the Mobile Scan Entries page.
