Set up inventory overview
You can set up the inventory overview configurations to manage the display and calculation of unit cost information across the item ledger entries, lot information, and inventory overview pages.
Set up inventory overview
To set up the inventory overview, follow these steps:
- Search for and open the Inventory Overview Setup page.
- On the General FastTab, configure the fields as described in the following table.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Show Unit Cost | Turn on the toggle to enable the calculation and display of unit cost fields on the Item Ledger Entries, Lot No. Information List, Lot No. Information Card, and Inventory Overview pages. |
When the Show Unit Cost toggle is turned off, the unit cost fields are not visible on any of the related pages and no calculation is performed.
With Show Unit Cost toggle turned on
When the Show Unit Cost toggle is turned on on the Inventory Overview Setup page, the system calculates and displays unit cost information on the following pages:
- Item Ledger Entries — The following unit cost fields are displayed for inbound entries:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Unit Cost (Actual) | Displays the actual unit cost calculated as Cost Amount (Actual) / Quantity. |
| Unit Cost (Expected) | Displays the expected unit cost calculated as Cost Amount (Expected) / Quantity. |
| Unit Cost (Total) | Displays the total unit cost calculated as (Cost Amount (Actual) + Cost Amount (Expected)) / Quantity. |
The Unit Cost (Actual), Unit Cost (Expected), and Unit Cost (Total) fields are not visible by default and must be added via personalization.
-
Lot No. Information List and Lot No. Information Card — The Unit Cost field displays the weighted average unit cost calculated from all inbound Item Ledger Entries for the lot as: SUM(Cost Amount (Actual) + Cost Amount (Expected)) / SUM(Quantity).
-
Inventory Overview — The Lot Unit Cost (Base) field displays the same weighted average value per lot row as shown on the Lot No. Information pages.
-
You can select the Unit Cost field on the Lot No. Information pages to drill down and view the underlying Item Ledger Entries used in the calculation.
-
The unit cost fields display 0 or blank for outbound entries and for lots that have no inbound Item Ledger Entries.
