Validate lot compliance during warehouse picking
The system validates lot compliance against customer specification profiles when a lot number is entered or scanned on a warehouse pick line. This ensures that only lots meeting the customer's shelf life and attribute specifications are physically picked and shipped, providing a quality gate before shipment. The validation applies to both inventory pick and warehouse pick documents, and auto-allocation routines automatically skip non-conforming lots.
To validate lot compliance during warehouse picking, follow these steps:
-
Select the Search icon
, enter Warehouse Picks, and then choose the related link. The Warehouse Picks list page opens.
-
Select the warehouse pick document to process.
The Warehouse Pick page opens.
-
In the Lot No. field on the pick line, enter or scan the lot number to assign.
The system retrieves the source sales order, customer, and applicable specification profile, then validates the lot's attributes against the profile criteria.
-
If the lot is compliant, the lot number is accepted and no further action is required.
-
If the lot is non-compliant and you are a standard picker, the system displays a hard error and clears the Lot No. field. Scan a different compliant lot.
-
If the lot is non-compliant and you have warehouse supervisor override permissions, the system displays a warning dialog. Select Yes to approve the override or No to cancel.
-
If approving an override, enter the override reason when prompted.
Override approvals are logged with your user ID, timestamp, and reason text.
-
If the lot was previously overridden on the source sales order, the system displays an informational message: "This lot was approved for use with override by [User] on [Date]." No re-validation is required.
-
Review the Spec Compliance Status FactBox on the right side of the page to view the compliance status of scanned lots.
Compliant lots show no indicator. Overridden lots display a warning icon with tooltip. Non-compliant lots display an error icon and cannot be picked.
