Set up EAM
The EAM Setup page helps you configure the integration between Business Central and the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system. It defines the processing of inbound EAM transactions and the publishing of outbound master data through AIP. You can use this page to enable event processing, select the journal batch and document numbering for posted transactions, set the balancing account for inventory adjustments, and initialize the event types and mappings required for the integration.
To configure the EAM Setup page, follow these steps:
- Select the Search icon
, enter EAM Setup, and then choose the related link.
The EAM Setup page opens. - Turn on the Enable toggle to process EAM inbound events.
-
Turn on the Send All Vendors toggle to include all vendors in EAM synchronization, regardless of their individual vendor settings.
- The Send to EAM field on the Vendor Card page is editable only when the Send All Vendors toggle is turned off; otherwise, the field is read-only.
- The Vendor-CreatedOrModified-v1 event is always sent to EAM regardless of the Send to EAM value. The eamAcceptSupplier flag is included in every event payload, and EAM interprets whether to act on the vendor record. Existing installations are unaffected: Send All Vendors defaults to true after upgrade, so all vendor payloads continue to carry eamAcceptSupplier = true with no change in behavior.
- The eamAcceptSupplier flag is also resolved using the same logic and included in bulk sync payloads when the Bulk Sync Report is run from the EAM Setup page.
-
In the General Journal Template field, select the template used to create G/L journal lines for transactions received from EAM.
- In the General Journal Batch field, select the journal batch used to create G/L journal lines for transactions received from EAM.
- In the General Journal Document No. field, select the document number used to assigned to the G/L journal lines created by the connector.
-
In the Inventory Adjustment Balance Account field, select the account used to post inventory gains or losses received from EAM.
The General Journal Template and General Journal Document No. field values are mandatory.
-
On the action bar, you can execute the following actions:
Action Description Configure with AIP Loads data into AIP and sets up the events required for EAM integration, allowing Business Central to send and receive data with EAM. Events Opens the AIP Events page to view and check all events related to the EAM integration. Process Events Processes pending inbound EAM events using defined filters. This action updates related records in Business Central, such as purchase invoices, credit memos, or G/L journal lines, based on the event data from EAM. Bulk Sync Report Synchronizes master data like currencies, payment terms, and supplier sites between Business Central and EAM.
