Post sales credit memo
While posting the Sales Credit Memo for the catch weight item, the following data is updated:
- The Sales Amount (Actual) field on the existing Item Ledger Entries with the value entries
- The Quantity Invoiced (KG) field on the Item Weight Ledger Entries
- The Posted Documented Weight Lines on the Posted Return Receipt
- Existing Sales Return Order, Item Tracking Lines and Document Weight Lines
The Posted Sales Credit Memo with the corrected sales amount and Posted Document Weight Lines are created.
Sales return orders and sales credit memos
You can apply the costing by weight functionality when posting sales return orders (receipts) and sales credit memos (Costing by weight) for catch weight items. The system calculates the cost amount based on the actual weight received, like purchase order receipts. When posted, the system creates relevant item ledger entries, item weight ledger entries, and item weight application entries.
The Remaining Quantity (Catch weight UoM) and Weight Open field values are updated accordingly, allowing the returned weight to be applied in future outbound transactions.
This functionality ensures consistent cost handling for inbound flows, whether from purchase receipts or sales returns.
