Post purchase credit memo

You can post a purchase credit memo for a catch weight item to process the return or cancellation activities.

To post purchase credit memo line without purchase return order

While creating the Purchase Credit Memo without any Purchase Return Order, the Weight Quantity (KG) field on the Posted Purchase Return Shipment and Posted Purchase Credit Memo pages is updated.

  1. Select the Search icon , enter Purchase Credit Memos, and then choose the related link.
    The Purchase Credit Memos list page opens.
  2. Select the required No. to open the Purchase Credit Memo page.
  3. On the action bar, select Posting > Post.
  4. Select Yes to post a Purchase Credit Memo.

This function works only if Return Shipment on Credit Memo toggle is turned off on the Purchases & Payables Setup page.

The following data is updated

  • The Cost Amount (Actual) field on the Item Ledger Entry and Value Entries page.
  • The Weight Quantity (KG) field on the Posted Purchase Credit Memo and Posted Document Weight Lines page.
  • The Quantity (KG) field on the Item Weight Ledger Entry.

You can update the Direct Unit Cost of the Catch Weight Item on Post Purchase Credit Memo Line. For more details, see Update Catch Weight Item Unit Price.

To post purchase credit memo line with shipped purchase return order

While posting the Purchase Credit Memo with an existing Shipped Purchase Return Order, the following fields are updated:

  • The Weight Quantity Invoiced (KG) field on the Posted Purchase Return Shipment.
  • The Weight Quantity (KG) field on the Posted Purchase Credit Memo.
  • The Weight Quantity Invoiced (KG) field on the Purchase Return Order (Partial Posting).
  • The Purchase Amount (Actual) field on the existing Item Ledger Entries.
  • The Weight Quantity Invoiced (KG) field on the existing Item Weight Ledger Entries.
  • Document Weight Lines on the Posted Purchase Return Shipment.
  • Item Tracking Lines and Document Weight Lines on the Purchase Return Order.

The Posted Purchase Credit Memo with the corrected Sales Amount and Posted Document Weight Lines are created.
